I knew I wanted to experience the pregnancy test moment since I would never experience taking one myself. We didn’t want to find out through an impersonal phone call from the clinic or a text. We wanted this moment to feel just as much OURS as it would if I was carrying. As an intended parent, I kind of feared not feeling as connected to our child and this experience in the same way as if I were carrying our child. We decided we will take every opportunity we can to celebrate and to make this process feel as personal as possible. Soaking it all up each and everyday. Everyday I thank God just to have been able to experience this moment after such a long journey to get to this point. We know this is just the beginning, and everyday is an emotional and spiritual battle. We have to choose faith and fight against fear moment to moment.
