@happii.bros: A few weeks back, Melanie hit me up about collaborating while she’s interning in Hanoi. My first reaction after checking out her website was, "This girl is seriously talented!" She’s only 21, but she’s already racked up a ton of skills and work experience, everything from set and lighting design to graphic design, illustration, and photography. Like, seriously, how? Melanie was super fascinated by the flower peddlers and Grab drivers napping on their bikes in Hanoi, so I asked her to meet up at West Lake to capture some photos. We then walked all the way to Sword Lake, chatting about how she managed to juggle all these things while still in school. Oh, and she speaks three languages: Korean, Chinese, and English! This street portrait project is actually a triple threat for me – pushing my introverted self to face the fear of approaching strangers, practicing my English (which I have felt really insecure about for years), and honing my photography skills.
