As a federal employee, I couldn't accept a "token of appreciation" more than $10 and even then, you have to be very careful of the circumstances. Seems politicians and judges should be held to that.

I’m torn on this bc while I agree with the need for bribery laws, sometimes things really are a token of appreciation. If it is after the fact and the person had no expectation it’s a gift.

But is it legal if the receiver is AWARE that they will be receiving cash after the fact? Cause that makes sense but it’s kinda also technically a bribe for future actions

yes they're calling it tipping, you know like you do a server when you tip them, and now they want to make it tax free so they don't have to claim it on their taxes
