@patticakes.bakes: I STRUGGLE. I’M NOT PERFECT. 👇 It happens. More than I’d like to admit. I’m CONSTANTLY learning. I mess up and have to start all over. I get frustrated and have to step away and cool off. On this day it just so happened I also had lots of other things going on and I had a limited amount of time to work with and no time for failure. Yet, each time I revisited the cake, it did not go as planned and I was FRUSTRATED. The more I tried to speed through, the harder it got. The amount of time, energy, and emotion that went into this particular cake was beyond. And it wasn’t even difficult! I have made this design oodles of times, yet here I was, so stressed and emotional. This is so much more than just using a hot scraper. I was simply at my breaking point. THIS WAS NOT MY DAY. And since I’ve started filming all my cakes, I caught it all on video. And I’m sharing it with you because I think it’s important to show the good, the bad and the ugly. I’m FAR from perfect! What we see on social media is often a very augmented perception of reality. It’s your best self. But I live in the real world. I can’t post hours and hours of footage but I can assure you, it’s definitely not all rainbows and butterflies. I try and cut corners. I mess up. I blame myself. I blame others. I lose my cool. I’m human. So whatever it is you do, keep going. We all go through it. What matters (in my opinion) is that you push through to the other side.
