@kimberly.dowdell: Haircuts have always been a real struggle for Jack. Despite the countless times we’ve trimmed his hair, he still dreads it and resists each time. But today, something special happened. As I sang to him to help calm his nerves, he began to sing along with me. It was such a beautiful moment—music always brings so much joy to his soul, and seeing it comfort him in this way was incredibly touching. I’m also incredibly proud of how much he’s grown. Seeing him sit in the chair on his own fills my heart with so much pride. There were some tears and moments of discomfort, but he pushed through and faced his fears with such bravery. For anyone who has a loved one with sensory sensitivities, you understand how challenging these moments can be. And for those who haven’t experienced it, it’s hard to truly grasp how overwhelming it can feel.
