RUM & COLA 1 oz White Rum (Cuban if you have it) 3/4 oz Kola syrup (liber and co) 1/2 tsp Fernet Branca 1 dash Angostura Bitters Champagne This cocktail is from BlackTail NYC. BlackTail was probably my favorite bar. It was a Cuban bar, with lots of rum cocktails. The OG location didn't make it through Covid, but I believe they opened a different/smaller location somewhere in Manhattan in 2024. I’ve wanted to make this for a few years and just never have gotten to it. I’ll definitely be making this again. This drink is simple but to me it’s exciting. It’s a simple take on a rum and coke, and it’s lighter abv and super crispy and crushable. A good Super Bowl beverage? Temperature is the most important thing with highball style cocktails. A frozen glass is a must. Big rocks to control dilution. Adding a small amount of bubbles first and stirring gently, then top off with more bubbles. 🫧
