hard disagree on if you’ve never been to South Bay then you’ve never been to LA - I’ve lived in LA my whole life and have been to South Bay but when I think of peak LA I don’t think South Bay 🙄

As someone from Whittier I hardly ever say I’m from LA to ppl in California I just say Whittier but if they’re not from California I’ll say I’m from LA but more like the suburbs of it

Yes! I am from Santa Clarita and in LA I say I am from Santa Clarita, with a Californian I say I’m from near six flags. But outside the state I say I’m from the LA suburbs! Live in Venice now.

i go to college in NorCal and ur right, it does depend who ur talking to. If some1 tells me theyre from SoCal, I'll tell them im from Compton. If some1 doesnt know where that is, I say "LA area" 😅

I call SFV “The Valley” but also alot of neighborhoods in the valley I refer to as LA (if they are technically within LA proper boundaries).

Same, grew up in Gardena and Torrance. I said South Bay when I was out of state and someone thought I meant the Bay Area up north lmao. I’m like I’m 10min from LAX ok.

I always say LA because that’s what my address says 😅 I’ve lived in koreatown my whole life but went to school in the sf valley. I’ve never considered the valley LA 😅
