The Yeongok-ri temple site was only known as a large temple site from the Three Kingdoms period to the Goryeo period, and was revived by building a three-story wooden pagoda at its center, continuing the tradition of wooden pagoda construction during the Three Kingdoms period. When you pass through the Cheonwangmun Gate and enter the grounds, Beomjonggak and Beopgogak show off their beauty side by side, and inside is the wooden pagoda that this place is proud of. Inside the grounds, there is the Jincheon Yeongok-ri Stone Monument, which has been designated as a treasure. The reason Botapsa Temple is attracting attention is because it is a three-story wooden pagoda modeled after the nine-story wooden pagoda of Hwangnyongsa Temple during the Silla Dynasty. The height of the wooden pagoda excluding the upper part is 42.73m, and there are 29 pillars supporting the pagoda. It is also special in that it is the only wooden pagoda in Korea whose interior can be climbed and descended on foot. They stuck to the traditional method of fitting wood together without using any nails. It houses the Four Directions Buddha on the first floor, the sutras on the second floor, and the Maitreya Triad on the third floor. It has historical value as it recreates a wooden pagoda that disappeared after the Silla period.(๊ตฌ๊ธ€๋ฒˆ์—ญ๊ธฐ)
