@npr: Paños, which are hand-drawn handkerchiefs, are a form of Chicano prison art that were originally used as a visual storytelling medium between incarcerated people, the outside world and their loved ones. It later became a creative outlet for them. One of these paños, which depicts Mickey Mouse saying “Órale ese vato,” now lives in the collection of the National Museum of American History. #NPR #Chicano
