I went to one w/ a 3 hour gap & the reception was a town over. An additional 40 min drive to the 50 min one I already made. No one was told this beforehand. I went home. No 🍰 is worth that 🐂 💩.

If the gap was too long and I couldn’t go back to my house/ hotel, I would only show up to the reception.

I saw on an episode of 4 weddings during the gap time, they were given a list of things they could do around the town if they wanted, like a list of options

everyone new each other via couple from they married afterHS local backthen manyonly went to the reception only had cake and coffee then. so ate meal in-between time at restaurant or at a home.

I went to a two venue wedding with a gap in between. They provided shuttles, but were not clear about the gap in the middle. So we got to the venue like 90 minutes before cocktail hour

We do this but arrange it amongst ourselves. No one gets assigned. I usually have people here for wine and cheese between the church and reception and it’s nice to chill and chat before the loud (1/2)

I remember wedding always like this before. Cuz you had to do a church wedding in morning. And reception at night. Horrible. Got married at 4pm on a vineyard and walked over to cocktails and dinner.

Last month I went to a wedding that I was originally supposed to be a bridesmaid in. Until I found out that it was outdoors and the bride wanted us in velvet dresses. I’m VERY pregnant. 1/2

I had that happen. They were sent to a house (coquetel hour?) while the bride and groom were taking photos, and THEN go to the venue for the party. Safe to say i didn’t go

6 hours between ceremony & reception. Half the guests were from out of town, on a long weekend, where everything was closed. We went home after the ceremony because we had a 4 hour drive.

I went to a wedding with gaps (big reception was a few hours after the final ceremony) but it was 6 separate events over 3 days so everyone was aware and prepared.
