The most remote town in the Lower 48: Jarbidge, Nevada! 😍⛰️⤵️ 📌 Save for your future @TravelNevada road-trip and share with your best adventure pals! #NVroadtrip #TravelNevada #paidpartnership 📍Jarbidge is located right on the skirts of the gorgeous Jarbidge Wilderness within the lower 48’s largest national forest (Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest)! 🗺️ How to get there? •Option 1: head north from Elko where you’ll hit a 50+ mile dirt road that winds through mountain passes (~80ish miles total on dirt road if you continue out of town and head north into Idaho). This way is inaccessible most of the year due to snow (check conditions ahead of time)! •Option 2: head south from Idaho and descend into the canyon (also on a dirt road for many miles but IS accessible + maintained year-round). ***BOTH ROUTES ARE ON GOOGLE MAPS*** 📖 History: •The discovery of gold here (in the early 1900s) led to the last major gold rush in Western United States history - as well as the last stagecoach robbery!! But, how did it get its name? Now that’s a fascinating tale! 👉🏻 See my broadcast channel for my full interview with Jason (who’s 1 of 16 year-round residents). ⛰️ Why visit Jarbidge? Because its utter solitude and peace is unmatched! Because you can walk through history that never left; kick back at a classic Sagebrush Saloon OR.. get after some world-class fishing, camping, off-roading, hiking, photography (+much more) on the magnificent wilderness that abounds! ⭐️ Fun facts: -Closest hospital is just under 3 hrs away -The average age of the town’s full time residents = 70 -The town puts on a ton of fun events! Like their upcoming annual Halloween party on October 28th! (And it’s quite a big deal! 😃 🎃)!! All the proceeds go towards the volunteer firefighters. -They are open in winter! Including the Outdoor Inn’s motel, the saloon and fuel pumps! -Get the homemade pie and ice cream at the cafe (must try some)! -Tons of wildlife (even moose and elk)!! 🫎 -Free, dispersed camping is everywhere nearby 😍⛺️ …I could go on forever! To say I left in utter awe and with so much love for Jarbidge would be an understatement! I cannot wait to return! 🫶🏻 _
