I was walkin my Great Pyrenees with my 3 year old daughter when my dog stopped and pushed my daughter to me. Then started barking and growling, the coyotes then barked.

This is called escorting. Coyote’s will follow or guide you out of their territory, when you stopped he was alerting others because you weren’t leaving his/her territory. Happens mostly at dusk/dawn.

I’ve been stalked by coyotes before while walking my dog in the evening. Ran into a gated tennis court and asked the ppl in there if they can walk me to my car. They had their rackets ready!! 😂😭

I love coyotes, but for future it’s important to haze them. It’s not only for the safety of others (less likely to get close), but also their safety (can be put down if seen as a threat).

They will be back. Stay alert & prepared to fight for your dog. Don’t go on long walks after dusk or before dawn. Stay close to home around those times. Organize community dog walks together.

Be careful!!! A guys’ GERMAN SHEPHERDS (2 of them) almost didn’t make it against a pack of coyotes. He tried and almost couldn’t save them. One lost of them lost an eye. BE CAREFUL

Yea hell nah. Once I was on an evening walk & saw like 4 coyotes surrounding us, we went to the nearest house & knocked on the door, they gave us a ride back down the hill. 😭

I hear them bark all the time in SF. I’m like whose frigging puppy/dog is barking at 4 am. Then i cometo realize it’s the coyotes. I live right next to presidio.
