@drheejink: Many people ask about rosemary oil, but it’s not the most effective treatment with the most data. Rogaine or Minoxidil 5% is still my first go-to recommendation for pattern hair loss treatment. It doesn’t matter if it’s men’s or women’s, just whichever has minoxidil 5%. If you can tolerate topical minoxidil without side effects, I usually recommend it 1-2x per day for at least 6 months. It takes time to work so being consistent with it is the best to see results. IF patients are seeking natural alternatives and/or cannot tolerate minoxidil, then rosemary oil could be a natural option. Using rosemary oil 2x per day has been shown to have maybe similar efficacy as minoxidil 2%. Also, keep in mind that there are many different types of hair loss and different things that can contribute to hair loss.
