@seaworld.photos: Ever wonder how SeaWorld weighs their orcas? Well, now’s your chance to learn! Watch as the younger female orcas, Nalani & Malia weigh themselves on this giant scale. Before the orcas are asked to slide up on the scale, their trainers make sure it’s wet & cooled off. The orcas health & wellbeing is ALWAYS put first. Nalani slides up first and then Katina & Kelly interact for a few seconds & finally Malia slides up to weigh herself. Malia found a bunch of alage to play with which is what you see in the video! Killer whales don’t have hands like you or I so they use their teeth as hands to inspect their environment. Did you know that SeaWorld is an AZA accredited facility? That means that the animals under their care receive world class healthcare. Not only do the animals participate in their own healthcare, they are also fed restaurant quality fish, get a health check up at least once a month & participate in research studies which benefits their wild counterparts! These animals are always given a choice to participate or not. Sometimes they choose to say no & that’s absolutely OK. You can’t force these animals to do anything they don’t want to do! I hope you learned something new today! #science #seaworldorlando #seaworld #shamu #seaworldorcas #orcaencounter #orca #orcas #whale #killerwhale #animalsoftiktok #animals #amazing #tiktok #foryou #foryoupage #foru #fypシ゚viral #fy #nalani #malia #katina #killerwhaletour #kwuct #trending #scale #weight
