When you say leave the Dad, my concern is custody. Unless you can prove the emotional abuse, you're leaving your child alone with the abuser with no oversight or ability to help immediately.

believe him!My father was like that +my mother never left him,my mental health (and I am adult) is messed up due to her not leaving. Always protect your child (otherwise she will suffer all her life).

Exactly what I'm dealing with in therapy... my stepdad SA'd me but my mom took his side. I'm vastly more upset she stayed w/him than I have ever been about the SA!!!

Also, your child will resent you for not putting her 1st, helping her, standing up for her. It's 100% worse to let it happen. Speaking from experience.
