Your credit score will be affected but not like you think. Stay current on your car and house, that alone will help you rebuild. After discharge get a secured $300 limit credit card and buy a tank of gas or groceries and pay back same month. You can do it!!!

Filed BK Chpt 7 in Jan 2020. Have a 725 FICO now, rebuilt my credit slow and steady. It is NOT a death sentence for your credit. You did the right thing.

With the credit cards, what I would suggest if you’re allowed is to get a secure card. That will help bring your score up.

My husband and I are thinking about filing . Our best friends filed and theh said within 1-2 years your credit will be back to good . They got a house and car a year after they filed . Good luck girly

See I have credit cards, but I only have two which obviously I’m on a payment plan with them but like it was for medical and I’m still paying on that because I am on a plan with them they’re working

Bankruptcy now is different then 10-20 years ago. I was afraid too but its been the best thing i have ever done. I was discharged in January and just bought a new 2024 car and got my first credit card

If you’re keeping your car it’s amended from bankruptcy and no longer affects your credit. We kept my car and no longer reported on our credit. We bought our house in oc2019 and we filed in Oct 2017.
