This happened to my dad’s car too back in 2008 however, when we got the car back, it was sooooo clean and there wasn’t even a tiny sliver of broken glass anywhere

That has nothing to do with the “insurance”. It’s the shop that replaced the glass that should have cleaned it up. Sure, they should’ve given it back in better shape, but a year? That’s on you.
