1-Year-Old Dane Mix's Heart & Lungs Are SEVERELY Damaged, Fighting For His Life In The ER After Being Failed Terribly By Humanity... Buddy was found roaming the streets of Texas by some locals. They took him in, but after just a month, they turned him over to a high-kill shelter. The shelter discovered that Buddy had a microchip and an owner! Normally, the prospect of reuniting a lost dog with their owner would be a reason to celebrate. However, Buddy's original owner wanted NOTHING to do with him, and was perfectly content leaving him to die in the shelter. Just hours before Buddy was scheduled to be euthanized, a small rescue group saved him after a young couple offered to foster him! However, not long after his arrival at their home, Buddy became so sick that he couldn't stand. The small rescue couldn't afford his care, and advised the couple to return Buddy to the shelter. Distraught, the fosters called the shelter to ask about his fate, only to be told that Buddy would be euthanized upon arrival. The couple couldn't afford Buddy's care either, but bringing him back to the shelter was a death sentence. They spent $9,000 on two initial vet bills before reaching out to us for help. We agreed to take Buddy in. He had to travel to us with an oxygen tank that was nearly empty after the 4 1/2-hour drive. He has sustained significant damage to his heart and lungs, leaving him sputtering for air and dependent on life-support. Buddy was clinging to life as he was quickly rushed through the ER doors. Currently, Buddy is still hospitalized. His recovery will be long and arduous, with very restricted activity. Yet, even after just a few days of care, we are already seeing small signs of progress. We have already spent over $5k on Buddy's life-saving care and this is only the beginning. We can't save his life without your help.
