@jetsetting_jacki: Also I’ve been yelled at by Taxi drivers and taken to the wrong place, they’ve tried to rip me off even though we agreed on a price, I had to change airbnbs because it was unsafe. And I ended up in hospital yesterday with the worsr food poisoning/stomach bug ever. Lmk what you guys think - I think the other parts of the country might be much nicer and safer. Agree on Tirana but the rest of Albania is amazing! The Alps or the south on the coast is amazing. Definitely a car hire country but driving is also an experience!

I stayed in Ksamil and Dhermi and had a lovely time! Everyone was super helpful and kind. Didn’t have any problems at all but have heard other people having similar experiences to you!

It’s 100% the places you went….. go to Himare and the alps in the north and it’s a much better experience. Also wouldn’t recommend for anyone to drive in Albania everrrr horrible idea it’s insane

I think it depends. We liked Sarande but Ksamil is so busy. Albania isn’t a cheap hidden gem anymore which is what people say on TikTok, but it hasn’t been that way for years!
