The Original Spence Café lies right on High Street in West Chester and has some pretty incredible food. This BYOB specializes in highlighting locally sourced ingredients and uses incredible quality meat and seafood to deliver a well-rounded, delicious menu offering. We started out with the Lump Crab Nachos, which was just out of this world. If you think you like oysters, I highly recommend you try the Baked Oysters Spence, because I guarantee this dish will change your mind. The Crispy Boom Boom Shrimp was insanely good, and I kept going back for more and more. The Tuna Tartar was so visually stunning, it was almost too pretty to eat… almost! The tuna was so fresh and it was easy to devour this entire thing. The Lobster Fettuccini was BEAUTIFUL and there was so much lobster, it was amazing. The Filet was tender as could be and I loved every bite. I was told the Crab Cakes at Spence are famous and after one taste, it’s so easy to see why. There was barely any filler & so much delicious crab, we couldn’t stop eating this. The Braised Short Ribs though? LIGHTS👏🏼OUT!👏🏼 I could easily eat this with my fork, no knife required, and the flavor of this meat was outstanding. Of course, we were so stuffed but when dessert is mentioned, there magically becomes room ofr just a little more… especially when all the desserts are made in house! The Flourless Chocolate Torte was decadent and ridicuously good. The Crème Brûlée was spectacular. But the Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sandwich with Oatmeal Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies.. just WOW. Just fantastic! I was very impressed by The Original Spence Café & I know you will be too! Pro Tip: Thursdays they offer a tasting menu, $45 for 3 courses and it’s the perfect way to try their whole menu! (Thanks Gina!!!!)
