@bratbustersparenting: Tips for getting a pre-teen to clean up after themself? They often forget to. I would use the BratBusters Behaviour Board, and have a consequence if they don’t. Their rule can be something specific like your dirty clothes go in the hamper and nowhere else or dishes go in the dishwasher within five minutes of finishing a meal. Make it timed and specific. The world runs with consequences in place. Remember, there’s no shame in making a mistake, but be there to hold your kids (and yourself) accountable. That’s how we learn. Not sure where to start in your calm leadership journey? Check out my BratBusters Behaviour Board (for ages three and older) that I send to my parenting newsletter, linked in my bio. Then, if you’re interested in learning the tools I teach for parenting like a calm leader, check out the BratBusters Bootcamps, linked in my bio. ` ` ` #KidsAndFamily #ParentingConnection #ParentingStrategies #ParentingEncouragement #ParentingConfidence #ParentingCoach #MindfulParenting #FamilyWellness
The best thing to do is LEAD BY EXAMPLE. Children learn from their parents no matter what. If you’re a lazy sod so will they be. Parental ego is a big problem that causes this.

And just under 3yrs? Would you say too young? My daughter that’s 2 and 9 months is doing a thing where she wants to tip things out on purpose and then refuses to pick it up 🤨
