I can tell you as an education major that when there are 25-30 kids in a classroom with all the specials and fun things they do and only ONE adult they do in fact need the 7 hours a day.

i went to public school my whole life and it’s so important to experience those long days when they’re young. it’s but they learn how to be human beings in society vs reading and writing all day

My husband and I were just talking about this! I think the school day is 7 hours to make it easier for parents to fall into corporate americas schedule 🙄 Team homeschool over here

I’m a teacher and we have lunch, recess, and specials everyday and also full classrooms with a lot of kids, so we do need and use all that time! But do whatever you feel is right for your baby.

I know we don’t really know Ev like on any deep level, but from what you’ve shown us of her, it seems like she will thrive in school. Home schooling does not work for everyone!

Not to mention they send them home with homework on top of it 😩 If you can't teach my child everything you need to within those 7 hours then you should be saving it for the next day not expecting them to come home and do homework for hours and have no time for family

From a girl who was homeschooled and is an extrovert, keep her in school. I was such a lonely kid because of it. Even with doing sports and stuff, it’s not the same as being with other kids.

Girl do playgroups, museums, homeschool groups she will be plenty socialized! I work at night and homeschool during the day and it’s so worth it!

The hours complete depend on the students/class size. Some students need lots of extra help which is hard to find in one day to make sure everyone is succeeding

I work in 2nd grade & it doesn’t feel like the day is long enough. With the out of class activities the learning part is prob about 2 hrs. Also it takes twice as long to get work done with kiddos 😂

My mom homeschooled me from first grade on and it was the best thing for me she involved me in a lot of homeschooling activities so I got the social experience I needed

hey girl! i was homeschooled and absolutely loved it. its great to do especially when they’re young! there are still so many activities that she can do even if she’s homeschooled🥰 sports, clubs, etc!

They don’t have them everywhere, but there are hybrid schools where your child goes to school 2 or 3 days a week and does work at home the rest of the week. It does cost money though but I loved it

I moved my kids to distance Ed. School is about 2 hours a day. Same curriculum. That leaves them several hours a day to learn more than what school can teach you.

I had friends who were homeschooled that ended up not graduating on time and not knowing how to socialize. If she’s thriving in school, keep her in it for her sake and happiness 🩷

I was online schooled in elementary! I loved it because we still met with teachers and other students once a day on an online meeting but the rest of it was self paced.
