@nontoxicdad: 🛑 Worried about pesticides on your fruits and veggies? 🍇🍎🥬🥦 Here are some simple and non-toxic DIY food hacks to clean them the right way! 🌱 👉 Here's what you need: ~1 to 1.5 teaspoons of baking soda for every 2 cups of filtered water. ✨ Let your fruits soak in the baking soda/water solution for 12-15 minutes. ✨ After the soak, rinse them off with filtered water, and you will have much cleaner apples and fruits! 👉 For organic fruits and veggies, try a vinegar wash to remove more “natural” pesticides that are still used! (My vinegar wash uses 1 part vinegar to 3 parts filtered water.) ✨ Let your organic fruits and veggies soak for 2-3 minutes, and rinse them off—now they are ready to eat and will be free of many of those organic pesticides you find on your organic produce. 🍎🥦 Some other methods to reduce both the toxic pesticides and the “natural” pesticides include: ✨ Peeling: Peeling can remove some residues, but remember—you're also peeling away nutrients! ✨ Other Soaking Methods: Soak in salt water, vinegar, or baking soda for 20 minutes for extra protection.
