@performancetransmission: Replying to @checkenginechuck people on this platform are trying my patients even people with big name companies. There will be a reckoning and a revolution. Not only with what’s going on with politics or those with major standings in the stock market. But those that think they have a little bit of a voice because they can say what they want to say behind the phone screen I know who they are. I’m about to be at the point where I don’t care. If we’re gonna make a change, we stand together. #mechanicsoftiktok
It’s just mind blowing that snap on dealers are comparing their wrench to a wrench that is a tenth of the cost

I don’t know why this whole wrench thing got blown up anyway. If a tool gets the job done… isn’t that the most important thing?.. I own many brands, they work for me!

Snap-On testing their wrenches against Icon had the reverse effect. They are 10% better and 1000% more expensive

Well for one for the people saying the wrench’s failed I’m pretty sure that bolt would have definitely been over spec in any of the videos I’ve seen a tool is a tool and it will wear and it will fail

There is some really good tik tok mechanics on here and there are those who make the industry look bad by how they present their opinion on a subject. There is a way to do it tactfully and they don’t.

Kstate or UNL did a study on why people would spend more on anything when there are cheaper options. It’s simply because they “feel” better about the purchase. They think they are getting something “better”.

How about making transmission content or engine content. Just let wrenches be wrenches and people buy whatever the want. Let it rest people

everyone worried about name brand tools my thought is who cares what tools you have as long as you get the job done and done correctly. to many people worried about name brand status

I use Black proto spline wrenches. So I don't care about the " battle" , but in my opinion.. if snap on is only marginally better bit icon is 1/3 of the price.. icon wins.

I ended up not becoming a tech (advising instead) for 2 reasons and the biggest one was not wanting to immediately be that far in the hole. In the end it’s a personal decision

I've used the same set of Craftsman wrenches for over 30 years without fail. I'd be more concerned with the quality of work on my vehicle than the cost of his tools!

At one point Snap on owned both not sure they haven't been bought by a bigger fish but probably have. I hated seeing the tools being provided to pay less. Juob is hard even with the best.

When are we going to be able to agree to disagree. People are free to choose whatever they want. It’s not the wrench but it’s owner that makes the mechanic.

You said it best, convenience of a tool truck versus having to take time to go exchange a tool. Never have had a truck wrench fail, but I've failed a bunch of cheap ones to make a tool

I personally wouldn’t buy an icon tool, just cheap knockoffs of snap on, I have some Montgomery ward tools that were made in 1936 still going strong
