they automatically get adjusted, you don't need to mess with them, release the trailer brakes, push the brake 5 times as hard as you can

If you’re having to adjust them there is a problem and you need something replaced

if you do that wrong though and cause an accident where your brakes are found at fault, without a mechanics license you face massive jail time since you aren't "trained" to do that work so be careful

Should never have to adjust brakes, slacks are auto adjusting, replace the slack it’s bad
