It's a Sunnah dua you make when you're unsure - asking Allah to guide you to what's best. ✅How to perform Istikhārah for marriage: 1. Pray 2 rak'ah nafl salah with the intention of Istikharah. 2. After salah, recite the Istikhārah dua (you can say it in your own language if needed). Dua: Allāhumma innī astakhīruka biʻilmika, wa astaqdiruka biqudratika, wa as'aluka min fadlika al-'azīm. Fa innaka taqdiru wa lā aqdiru, wa taʻlamu wa la aʻlamu, wa anta 'allāmul-ghuyūb. Allahumma in kunta taʻlamu anna hādhā al-amr (mention your matter) khayrun lī fi dīnī wa maʻāshī wa 'āqibati amrī (aw qāla: fī 'ājili amrī wa ajilih), faqdurhu lī wa yassirhu lī, thumma bārik lī fih. Wa in kunta taʻlamu anna hādhā al- amr (mention your matter) sharrun lī fi dīnī wa maʻāshī wa 'āqibati amrī (aw qāla: fī 'ājili amrī wa ajilih), fasrifhu 'annī wasrifnī 'anhu, waqdur lī al-khayra haythu kāna, thumma ardinī. Sahih Al-Bukhari 1166 English Translation: O Allah, I seek Your guidance [in making a choice] by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You from Your immense bounty. For You have power, and I do not. You know, and I do not. You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter (mention your matter here) is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and my life in the Hereafter, then ordain it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if You know that this matter (mention your matter here) is bad for me in my religion, my livelihood, and my life in the Hereafter, then turn it away from me, and turn me away from it. And ordain for me what is good wherever it may be, and make me pleased with it. 3. Then leave the matter to Allah - and observe. 📿What happens after Istikhārah? You don't need a dream. The answer usually comes through events, ease/difficulty, or a strong feeling of peace or discomfort. If it's good for you, Allah will make it easy and remove doubts. If not, He'll close the doors - sometimes suddenly, sometimes gently. 🕊️Reminder: ▫️If you feel peace, ease, and the path opens it's likely a yes. ▫️If things get harder, confusing, or feel wrong that's your sign to walk away.
