Your landlord legally has to out your deposit into a deposit protection scheme. Any dispute needs to go through them. If he hasn’t done this you can take him to small claims court and he could end up

I used this eraser on the wall for a mark and it took all the paint off. I was so annoyed. Needing to buy white paint now to cover it up 😐
