@theptinitiative: ❌This small muscle could be causing your neck and shoulder pain! (Full program in my bio link) --- There is a small muscle that connects the shoulder blade to the neck, and can be really problematic if it gets overactive and tight. --- It’s called the Levator Scapulae and it is a common source of neck pain and shoulder blade movement problems. --- This muscle helps you elevate your shoulder blade, and bend your neck to the side, but can limit your ability to lift your arm overhead optimally if it’s restricted. --- To begin fixing this issue I recommend doing this active Levator Scapulae release technique with a lacrosse ball to decrease the tonicity and tightness of this muscle. --- Then we need to actively reinforce this new position by training scapular depression. This banded exercise is a great way to being learning this motion. --- Need a detailed guide to bulletproof your shoulders?
