our park had a literal 15 foot tall sheet metal slide that literally right next to a splash park so we'd get very wet and go down that slide which proceeded to send us sliding half way across the town

I love the hot metal slides, especially if you wear polyester clothing. You'd go so fast that stopping at the bottom isn't possible.

Best playground ever was built when someone called around n all the local farmers rounded up odd lumber, old tires n rope etc, they rolled in n built it in an evening, no plans

i remember climbing a debarked 6m tree with those cilmbers handholds, the way down was a metal slide pole. I fell once down into the "soft" gravel. i just got up, took a break, and climbed again.
