Curious - I have cystic acne that comes and goes in the same 3 spots.. I also get normal acne on top of it, while it’s inflamed. When I pop it it makes it feel so much better 😟

Ichthammol is a drawing salve and it’s pulled out splinters and cured infections 🤷♀️never used it on acne tho

You’re absolutely correct! Went to my derm and I’m so grateful my physicians in the past have been so adamant about not picking or extracting those cysts because of the risk of an infection/spreading.

It doesn't feel good. And I've done it so many times, finally keeping my hands off my face and using antibacterial soap for my face wash and soooo much better

I took ibuprofen for the swelling and warm or cold compresses for the pain. no one should be extracting anything thats actively inflamed.

My cystic acne was so painful. Fortunately, it didn’t cover my whole face or anything, but it was enough that I took accutane (15 years ago now). So incredibly worth it
