@jessicawetz6: Replying to @meaganfarleyyyy Steps to how I help the #chronicallyill get diagnosed: Step 1: Chat gpt symptoms/test results to find possible conditions and how they’re diagnosed. Step 2: FB groups for patients with the condition in your area to find whose doctors educated on it. Step 3: Search Google scholar for medical articles on the condition, print, highlight your symptoms, the tests and diagnostic criteria. Step 4: Read it out loud to your doc, ask for the tests and referral to the doc the FB group recommends Step 5: If they say no, say “I understand, thanks for your time, please document my request being denied in today’s report and provide me a copy to take to my second opinion.” (This can change their mind as they dont want proof they denied care if they’re wrong. Don’t actually show this to your second opinion, just go to a walk in clinic and repeat. If they say no to documenting it or providing a copy, google how to file a complaint against them as they’re violating policy.) Talking with other patients and using artificial intelligence is the biggest resource for chronically ill people to get better and gain back some quality of life! One search figured out in 5 seconds what 50 doctors in 14 years couldnt. #MedicalMystery #ChronicIllness #misdiagnosed #jessicawetz #wetz #heds #mcas #ibs #ibd #chronicpain #crohnsdisease #raredisease #medicalnegligence #medicalptsd #medicaltrauma

It's so refreshing seeing someone advocate for using the tik tok algorithm to figure out if you have something. There's a huge stigma against questioning if you have something because you saw tik toks

Doctors googling stuff in front of you being a green flag is SUCH a mood. I made an "Argument for hEDS" doc back in the day, with citations explaining it, then all my symptoms with relevant photos (1)

seriously, your health advocacy videos feel like they're changing my life. I've been sick for years and I'm so close to getting a Hashimotos Thyroidosis diagnosis that explains all of my symptoms.

Practicing a script before seeing a dr (which you touch on briefly) has been MAJORLY helpful for me. And if I’ve seen the specialist, I tailor it to how I think they’ll respond best (eg if I need to
