@erinrackham: Sharing these thoughts because I’m both sad I couldn’t articulate them for so long and grateful that my words are coming back!! 🙏🏻 #longCOVID #traumarecovery #emdr #IFS #partswork #internalfamilysystems
Therapy doesn't work for me. I'm severely self aware and know exactly all my root issues. I ended up feeling like the therapist isn't listening to what even bothers me still. smh

I needed this. I do IFS and sometimes I feel like I’m just traumatizing myself every week by showing up to it. It feels endless bc I have cptsd but I hope someday it will feel lighter

I feel like I can never tie the tears back to something and so nothing ever gets resolved. I just keep crying and it’s not cathartic, I don’t feel better after, and I don’t know why. I’m so tired

what happens when your husband keeps triggering you but then says I should get over my childhood? I'm 48.

What if you can't cry? Is cry a metaphor for emoting?

So. Many. Tears. And when therapy is over, the wave of post-therapy exhaustion + low mood lasts for days. But I know it’s working, I’m singing again, I’m starting to separate myself from other 🟩

I recently saw somewhere the statement that we often become the person/adult we needed as a kid. That hit hard and so true. The work I do for accessibility in my job is what I longed for and needed

Wow this is a lot to unpack for me. My inner children are screaming internally and I have not had the ability to work w them like I need to

Several years ago I started spontaneously crying for no apparent reason. A little while later I accidentally started treating my alexythmia and did a ton of crying for all sorts of reasons. I often feel relief afterwards like it was struggling to get out. 💜

I’ve been crying lately doing morning pages about a thing that happened to me in my midtwenties. I wasn’t a kid, but I didn’t have the ability to cry and process the event. So I’m doing it now I guess

Also I realized after doing therapy that the real effect of therapy is after the session. You start seeing things differently and you begin to process.

This happend with my second therapist. But she was triggering, just sitting there like a stone, not talking, not really reacting to anything. It was just reliving shit, I could not really do anything.

Been in pyschodynic therapy for 7 years. First 3 or 4 were filled with ugly crying every session. Slowly over time I've moved passed that big crying and now I'm in the place where certain things make

Yes all of this makes sense. “Holding space” for them and giving the emotions down here to go.
