One more mention - because I went through this with my Mom. When hearing is bad it can also affect behavior and make dementia worse. Better hearing aids helped my mother to engage more easily

may i suggest putting pictures on your fridge and where he sits to watch tv … we had them everywhere that my dad sat or hung around. He really enjoyed looking at them and he would tell us.
