@shaielexis: Let’s talk about post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, post inflammatory erythema and acne scarring ✨ Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is characterized by the darkening of the skin after an inflammatory response and is most common in darker complexions. Post inflammatory erythema is the red, pink, or purple marks caused by dialates and damaged capillaries. These both do fade over time but it can take months, sometimes even years. You can speed up this process by treating with topical treatments (exfoliants + tyrosinase inhibitors), wearing (and reapplying) spf, and getting in office treatments like laser resurfacing, microneedling, IPL, and chemical peels. Acne scarring is very different and needs to treated accordingly. Scarring is categorized as permanent marks or indentations that form after acne has healed. Best treatments for this are microneedling, laser resurfacing, radio frequency, microdermabrasion, prf - something to get deeper into the dermis.
