One of my mom flexes is: my kids have been doing their own laundry since they turned 7. Washed, folded & put away.

the amount of kids who leave their finished plate on the table and walk away 🤯 my kids were tipping their dishes into the sink before they could reach.

Yep, to preserve my ADHD sanity “I’m busy right now, so you can do it yourself or you can wait” is one of my catchphrases. My kids are really independent because they don’t wanna wait.

I heard someone say “raise capable kids” they might make a mess. But they can learn to clean that up as well.

I’m a foster mom. I teach them age appropriate independence. 9 & 11 both know how to do their own clothes as well as fix simple things bc I don’t know if they will have someone to help when leaving me

There are so many that don't realize their job is to raise a functioning adult and doing everything handicaps them

Yes! Because those kids will become adults that don’t know how to do anything for themselves…like my husband lol

My 12yr old does their laundry, cooks dinner for us all occasionally and brings me my water any time I ask. I feel like a top tier mom now.

Oof, yes. I work from home and cannot handle the constant food requests. You know where it lives. I often have to remind them. Same goes for weekends. Meanwhile. I don’t eat 🤣🤣

I have a 2 year old. I made my ex (his dad) take his shoes off when he came in my house a few days ago. My toddler picked them up and put them in the correct place. Teaching him well 😂
