I had a mania episode once. It lasted 3 weeks. In that time, I lost 1.5 stones of fat, i slept 2 or 3 hours a night but didn't feel tired and I was so extremely happy that everyone noticed.

my daughter was diagnosed with bipolar recently but she doesn't have the depressive episodes. just manic and her regular self. some manic episodes can be severe though

You may refer as urgent but diagnosis takes on average 9 years (bipolar UK), it took 7 years for me, by that time a lot of damage is done
