In NJ, medicaid does cover assisted living in select facilities.

If planning is done timely, I’d imagine you could place in a unrevocable trust or special needs trust. There is a look back period but if she knows she has a disabled child than it could be planned

AL in our area is closer to $8k, and in some cases Medicaid does cover AL. I’ve seen it happen.
