my old steel frame truck is only rated for 5k lbs but I've towed roughly 10k from the bumper with no issue

isn't the structure cast aluminum monocoque? You don't use cast aluminum for strength, you use it as a compromise with reduced strength and reduced weight.

I actually took an early exit a couple weeks ago when I saw a cybertruck in the wild behind me on a 75mph freeway. I did not want that thing behind me, and I DEFINITELY didn't want it in front of me, so I got off the freeway.

An Australian group did a towing test for the cybertruck and rated it as 3 tonnes or 6600 pounds maximum towing capacity, Tesla rates it at almost double for “safe” towing capacity
