We were in beautiful Watch Hill and while I had only been aware of the beach that charges - I discovered an absolutely STUNNING Conservation area that is one of the most gorgeous walks I have been on! Te Napatree Point Conservation Area One Bay Street West Westerly, Rhode Island 401-315-5399 You will need this info: Watch Hill Parking 44 Bay Street Watch Hill, RI 401-584-7410 www.watchhillparking.com Napatree Point is FREE to enjoy! The main problem is the parking (isn't it always?) They have scant few spots on the street and if you get one, you can only stay for 2hours. If you go over, the ticket you could get is $150! They have a shopping area and free parking on Bay Street but it is also limited and meant for people shopping and dining. If you want to go, you should probably make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance and the cost is $50. Take friends and split the cost - it will be worth it! Spend the day in paradise!!! Watch Hill is a gorgeous place to enjoy the day - Sift Bakery has a location here and there are plenty of places to eat. I recommend grabbing sandwiches and making a picnic to enjoy out on the beach. There is a 3.2 mile hike that take you around the peninsula. you begin on the bay side, cross over a few boulders on the tip and come out on the Atlantic side. This is a protected area filled with rare habitats. They also claim some of the most amazing sunrises and sets!
