Living with a chronic illness 🩵 I have Dysautonomia- this is an umbrella term & simplified it is the dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system. I have VVS & POTS (vasovagal syncope & postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) This leaves me with many debilitating symptoms that I deal with daily & still leave me very upset, frustrated, embarrassed, drained & exhausted. Knowing you have this for life, is something that is difficult to come to terms with, but you learn to adapt I am incredibly lucky that my body still allows me to exercise & be active. Many with this illness are unable to do that & it’s incredibly frustrating- it’s a key part of rehab & building the cardiovascular health to ease symptoms & flare ups. My tolerance for exercise has massively declined from what I used to be able to manage, but as I said, I am able to do a lot more than the average Dysautonomie 🩵 However- I’m determined to not let this illness win. To try & not let it hold me back (within reason obviously) & still live my life as much as I can. I have to be kind to myself & remind myself that some days I’m unable to even more from the sofa or go out with friends dancing or even walk the dogs. But on the days where I can, I’m going to do as much as I can & keep going 🙌🏼 I also have so much love for my support system- without them, I know I wouldn’t be where I am. I am forever grateful to have incredible friends whom I trust with my life (literally) 🤍 And my fiancé- who is the best thing to ever happen to me. Who I share two wonderful doggies with & who loves me for me. Still is willing to love me more than ever, despite knowing the hardships we will face & I can’t thank him enough for being him ❤️ #gymgirl #dysautonomia #dysautonomiaawareness #pots #potssyndrome #spoonie #vasovagalsyncope #chronicillness #chronicillnessawareness
