Don’t throw out your old ceiling fan just because it’s not working properly—fix it instead! Here’s how to replace the light pull switch motor in your ceiling fan. Tools and Materials Needed: - Screwdriver (more than likely Phillips) - Replacement light pull switch motor - Nuts- Wire connectors (if needed) - Ladder - Safety goggles -scissors or knife (if needed) Step 1: Turn Off Power to the ceiling fan at the circuit breaker. Step 2: Remove the Light Kit box. Locate the screws securing the light box to the fan. These are usually found on the underside of the light fixture. Unscrew the light kit box from the fan and gently pull it away to expose the wiring. Step 3: Disconnect the Wiring Take a photo of the wiring configuration for reference (optional but recommended). Disconnect the wires that’s connecting the light pull switch motor to the fan. Typically, you will find two wires connected to the pull switch motor.
