This is called sintering. It is easier to manage due to no Liquid Metal, but the resulting alloy is much more brittle

so basically it uses pressure to cause a vibration with the metal molecules, this increased movement causes friction which in turn causes heat. this heat helps to fuse the metal molecules, creating a large smooth block of metal. however without being taken to a liquid form from high heat this metal tenda to have less tensile strength.
