Black Tie is for evening events not daytime weddings outside in the Southern heat. I would tell her I'm unable to attend due to my pregnancy and not due to the dress code.

I’d be wearing a lot of sheer material. But I agree with others; black tie is literally described as evening wear. Not daytime summer heat attire.

I'm confused. I'm wearing long sleeves linen tops when I'm out in sun to prevent overheating. It helps to keep my arms cool. You can overheat in mini dress on the sun if the dress is made of plastic.
