I’ve had to do that to my own vehicles when money was super tight and I had to wait a couple of weeks to get the money to buy new rotors. Sometimes you have to do what you need to do.

“Customer has no money” turn the rotor(s) anyway so they are safe that keeps them coming back. The boot can be replaced also. Take one from an old caliper sitting around. Help out as much as you can.

brakes will not work well or it will pull badly. when braking. as a technician you and your shop are now responsible if that vehicle hits a school bus. do it right or don't.
