You don't, but it sure does make it awhole lotta quicker. For example when I used to do just gym I would be losing 1kg a month on avg but with cardio it used to be around 3 to 4kgs a month.

yea you dont need, but if you enjoy doing cardio then it would be faster because you would do it often... its always about what exercise that you can consistently do.
