My grandpa was in the RAF WW2, he never told us stories from battles, only said “I’m happy knowing you won’t see what I’ve seen”

My gramps went to war as well.Not ww though anyhow he made it back, he never wanted 2 talk about it even when we had a surgery 20 years later the only thing he said under anesthesia was war flashbacks

My mums uncle was in a Lewis gun team. Was at Christmas truce in 1914 wounded in 1916 returned to England. Returned to France in 18 where he died. Black Country bloke in the Coldstream guards.
