If the actor opens it up to look then the armorer could claim it was tampered with after they handed it off and I would agree. It should be 100% confirmed at that handoff.

The problem is, the aromorer is the only one who's supposed to provide a weapon, and ammo - and they're suppose to ensure no live ammo is anywhere within MILES of that weapon in the first place

I'm torn, you should absolutely practice gun safety everytime you're handling a gun, but on set there shouldn't be real guns and ammo anyway

As an actor, I would be completely unqualified to tell the difference between live and blank rounds. I’ve had to fire as part of a role … I was completely at the mercy of the armorer. It’s on them
