STEAK & GUINNESS CRUMPET TOPPED PIE 😱 We’re bringing you another stunner of a pie, and we’ve taken this one to the next level by topping it with crumpets – yes, crumpets! Trust us, this is THE ONE! The crumpets soak up all that delicious rosemary butter while giving you the perfect crunchy topping. You won’t believe how good this is! 🥧 Sprinkle some plain flour, salt and pepper over 1kg diced beef with flour ❤️ Add some oil to a large, heavy based pan and sear the beef on all sides until browned - don’t overcrowd the pan - cook in 2 batches if needed 🥧 Remove the beef from the pan and set aside ❤️ Fry off 1 large white diced onion and 6 cloves grated garlic until softened. 🥧 You can also add 300g sliced/diced mushrooms here too if you like them ❤️ Add 2 tbsp tomato puree and 50ml balsamic vinegar and cook until the tomato puree deepens in colour - this should take a couple of minutes 🥧 Add in the cooked beef, 300ml good quality rich beef stock, 1 can of guinness, 1-2 tsp marmite and 2 tsp rosemary. You can also add some thyme here too if you like! ❤️ Bring to boil, make sure to scrape the bottom of the pan to loosen all of the flavour from earlier, then turn down to low, add a lid and leave to simmer for an hour 🥧 Keep stirring every 20 mins or so - and add more liquid if it reduces too quickly ❤️ After this the filling should have reduced and have a thick gravy like consistency, and the beef should pull apart. Season to taste with salt (if needed, ours didn’t), and some black pepper (we like plenty) 🥧 Transfer the mix to another (oven proof) dish and allow to cool slightly ❤️ Meanwhile chop up 4-6 crumpets into cubes 🥧 Sprinkle them over the top of your filling until it is covered ❤️ Brush with garlic and rosemary butter (melted butter mixed with garlic granules and rosemary) 🥧 Bake in the oven at 180 for around 10-15 mins - until the filling is bubbling and the crumpets are golden brown on top with a slight crunch #comfortfood #onepan #planetfood #mothersday #FoodLover #yum #homecooking #eat #steaktok #beefstew #guinness #crumpets #breakfast
