I saw a review that said the tumbler gets shit after 6-7 knives sharpened. Can you test that? An expensive sharpener that only lasts for a few uses seems useless.

Why would it not work. If it sharpens knives at all (and isn’t too gritty), it will eventually make them razor sharp

If you strop it you can get the rating. This is more a question of effort. I mean if you put enough effort in you can do it with the bottom of a cup

They are not magic but I think they are the best sharpener for most people. I don’t think they’re really designed to sharpen a knife from scratch but they do maintain a decent edge on a knife
