@dnzh.travels: 🇹🇭 With only 300 Maniq people left in the world, meeting this elusive tribe was a truly extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime experience. This largely unknown group, often called the last black tribe of Thailand, is rarely heard of and even harder to find. The Maniq are nomadic, moving every 7 or so days to a new campsite deep in the forests of southern Thailand. Thanks to a knowledgeable local ranger, I was able to track them down and spend time learning about their way of life. I brought along some much-needed supplies, like rice and tobacco, as small gestures of appreciation for their hospitality.
